The GRID*@ CBC aims to stimulate enterprise and business activity, encouraging and supporting business start-ups and the growth of existing small businesses. It's a dynamic business network, a distinct kind of business support and a very different flexible space to make things happen.
The GRID*@ CBC is run by Action for Business Ltd (ABL) and is based in Carlisle Business Centre. GRID*@ CBC offers support and nurturing to fledgling and pre start businesses. People who either want to start or develop their business can join the GRID*@ CBC as members and become part of the network. With over 300 members on their books GRID*@ CBC is rapidly building a reputation of the place to be if you have a business idea or are running a small company.
Anyone thinking of starting their own business or those already running a business and wanting to develop it further can join as members. Following an initial chat with one of the two full time staff either in the offices at Carlisle Business Centre or at one of the outreach venues in Girlington, Manningham or Haworth Road centre membership can be taken up. This is flexible and low cost with easy in easy out terms and starts with as little as five hours each month. Membership offers a business address and facilities at the Carlisle Business Centre premises. Members have desk space, internet access, computer and telephone usage, fax and email all housed in a light and modern office space. Members and Guests are made to feel welcome and secure and are put at their ease in this warm and friendly environment. There is free car parking, access through personal keys and a great cafe on site. Members can use the GRID*@Park Lane on Manchester Road and also the two Catalyst Centres in Leeds.
Additionally events membership can be taken up offering both a monthly business networking lunch and a monthly learning event on topics selected by members to help their business develop. Topics covered include tax responsibility for small businesses, Human Resources, using Twitter to market your business and the law. Informal networking puts you in touch with like minded people giving the opportunity to develop partnerships and ideas and to sell your own services and products.
